Craft Event

It’s been a while since our last post but there is plenty to report. Last Saturday (April 18th) we had a highly enjoyable craft workshop for some of the younger members of our leisure club and their friends.
Two of Louth’s most creative craft designers Collette Mulholland and Fiona Thornton introduced a group of twenty two 6 to 12 year olds to the fun side of felting and jewellery making respectively. The classes lasted from 11 to 1 with a short break in between.

Exciting craft event next week

This year we are running a special "fun with crafts" morning designed for children on Saturday April 18th. If your children have a creative streak and would like to try out jewellery making or using wool to make a range of felt products then why not book the family in for that weekend. The classes will be free to residents in the castle.

You will also be able to experience the warm welcome, sense of history, great personal attention and unique atmosphere that Ireland is famous for. During your stay you can unwind in our pool, gym and sauna, stroll in our grounds or dine in “La Cucina” restaurant with its genuine Italian cuisine. Newgrange and the historic delights of the Boyne Valley are nearby for you to visit.

We have limited availability over Easter

Two night special - € 99 per adult (including weekend)

(€ 45 per children)

Accommodation for two nights, full Irish breakfast and complimentary use of our leisure club

One night - € 55 per person

We also have some family rooms available

Thanks to all our float team

We would like to say a big "thank you" to everyone who helped in any way with our Saint Patrick’s Day float. It was a minor miracle that it all came together in less than a week with the bulk of the work happening in the final three days. The float would never have happened without the kindness of David Burlingham who gave us the trailer to build our creation on. Maggy, George & Ronan were instrumental in turning the initial designs into a thing of beauty and wonder. On the day of the parade Gareth, Clare, Chris and Babs flanked the float wonderfully through the streets of Ardee. Lorraine very kindly kept the club open while everyone else was parading.
The main driving force behind it though were Niamh and Peter who worked tirelessly to pull all the elements of the float build together and then got it into and back from Ardee on the day.

We would especially like to say a big thank you to all the members of the club who wished us luck and complemented the team for the great efforts on the day. It is not every day that you see a lady in a jacuzzi and and octopus travelling down Ardee main street. We hope that it brought a smile to everyone’s faces and helped celebrate the feast day of our patron saint in a fun way.
